The story behind the name
Choosing a heating and air conditioning company is a trust decision. You’re inviting someone into your home (and into the systems that keep your family comfortable) and you need to know the people behind the name.
We’re Weakland’s Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc., and we’ve been servicing the Reno-Sparks and surrounding areas since 1991. Our goal is straightforward: maintain complete customer satisfaction by providing consistent top quality service. We take that seriously—because comfort isn’t a luxury in Northern Nevada, it’s part of daily life.
How we got started
Our story starts long before our company name was on the door.
Kirk came to Reno in 1976 from Las Vegas, where he was born. During his senior year at Sparks High School, a scout visited his auto class to talk about going into the heating & air conditioning trade. That moment clicked—Kirk decided this is what he wanted to do.
He graduated from Sparks High in 1983 and went on to the Universal Technical Institute in Arizona, graduating in 1984. After that, he came back to Reno and went right to work for a prominent heating & air conditioning company for six years. During this time he also trained in the 350 Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Union for four years, graduating in 1988.
That foundation—education, hands-on experience, and trade training—still shows up in how we think about HVAC today: do it right, understand the system, and treat every job like it has to work when it matters.
